OASBB & AILI JÄRVELÄ & SAMI PITKÄMÖ

Koskettavassa ja tunnelmallisessa konsertissa kuullaan ensimmäisellä puolella laulaja-lauluntekijä Aili Järvelän loihtimaa, uutta ja eeppistä suomenkielistä laulelmaa. Unituulia-ohjelmisto kantaesitettiin 2018, ja nyt viimein Järvelän säveltämät, sanoittamat ja sovittamat laulut pääsevät Ouluun Musiikkijuhlille. Konsertin toisella puolella Sami Pitkämö esittää omia laulujaan svengaavasti suomenkielellä sekä muutamia Count Basie/Frank Sinatra – klassikoita.

Aili Järvelä is a wide-ranging musician who grew up with folk music, originally from Kaustiainen, who not only has a solo career as a singer and songwriter, but is also a sought-after composer and arranger in Finland. Järvelä has collaboratedwith with the Helsinki Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonieta, Sointi Jazz Orchestra and Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra.

Sami Pitkämö is a Finnish musician, singer and songwriter, arranger, conductor and producer and started his musical career playing the trombone in his hometown Kauhajoki. For twenty years, Pitkämö has had the opportunity to collaborate with many Finnish industry legends and at the same time witnessed the birth of new stars. The music has taken the musician all over the world, from Europe to USA, Africa, Asia and Australia. Nowadays, Pitkämö leads his own band in various television series, arranges and composes music for artists, television, theater and commercials, and leads his own Sami Pitkämö Orchestra.

Oulu All Star Big Band (OASBB) is an ensemble of music professionals from Oulu managed by Uleåborg Jazz Organization. Operating since 2005 and producing over a hundred big band concert productions, the northern ensemble has gained great popularity as a performer of big band music and as an ensemble that boldly breaks musical boundaries. Since 2019, the artistic director of the Oulu All Star Big Band has been Jukka Eskola, one of Finland's foremost jazz trumpeters.
