JUKKA LINKOLA TENTET

Finnish composer, pianist and conductor Jukka Linkola's Tentet ensemble is one of the top European jazz ensembles. The Tentet band's music alternates between forward-moving rhythmic swing and balladic elements.

The band's expression combines the tonal colours of a large ensemble with the sensitivity of a smaller band. Tentet woke up from his long hiatus with a new line-up to perform in 2021. It's been 27 years since The Tentet debut. The fresh album "Rumba Liberte" of the new line-up will be released in spring 2023.

Artist Professor Jukka Linkola is one of Finland's most distinguished music makers. In addition to jazz projects, Linkola's compositional output includes a symphony, 15 soloist concertos, 13 operas, chamber music and several musicals. Linkola's choral music is constantly performed in different parts of the world. The Jazz Federation awarded Linkola the Yrjö Prize already in 1979, and in 1997 his EQ ensemble won the Jazz-Emma of the Year. Linkola has won many international composition competitions, and for his film music he has received two Jussi Awards.

A series ticket is available for the Oulu Music Festival's Spring 2023 Jazz & Etno series. The series ticket is on sale until March 1, 2023, in limited amount. The series ticket includes all spring season 2023 OMJ Jazz & Etno concert series’ concerts.
