Pope Puolitaival Nordic4 plays melodic jazz music that moves more than just the traditional jazz audiences, without compromising on the deepest essence of jazz. In the songs, improvisation is strongly combined with the melody of the composition, which can be heard throughout the song. The compositions seek inspiration from the black and white atmosphere of old Finnish movies to the diverse urban world today. The band revives the sound of jazz in an unprecedented way by combining traditional jazz music with an electronically modified saxophone sound obtained by utilizing a microphone attached to the body of the saxophone.
