Artistic directors Manuel Hermian and Kari Ikonen's founded in 2015 Orchestra Nazionale della Luna is one of the most compelling ensembles in contemporary European jazz and has performed extensively at clubs and festivals across Europe for more than a decade.
When the National Orchestra of the Moon descends to Earth, it blows the dust from the ears of jazz audiences. Its inventively original repertoire, rich instrumentation, and performances radiating creative energy captivate listeners both on the Moon and on Earth. The ensemble’s third album, *Selene’s View*, which explores the problems of planet Earth from the perspective of the Moon goddess Selene, was released in 2024 through a collaboration between the Hungarian label BMC and the Belgian label Igloo.
