The quartet dives into his legendary body of work, spanning from the Atlantic Records years to the Impulse! era, reinterpreting these masterpieces with a fresh and distinctive artistic voice.
The ensemble was formed at the initiative of Italian drummer Alessandro D’Annan idea to create a tribute to the legendary John Coltrane with musicians based in Helsinki. Dunkelin, Tuomarilan and Tikkasen with this approach, the ensemble decided to choose a truly unusual repertoire – pieces that the American saxophonist performed less frequently.
