BARLAST

Barlast creates new and airy music with silence in the background. The unnecessary has been stripped away; only the name has become a ballast.

The concert of Barlast takes you from the sweet chords of the telecaster to the shepherd's call of the mänkeri, and from the hum of the ring drum to a free double bass solo. The moods vary from 18th century ballroom dances to suffocation in a radiation protection suit.

Vuonna 2016 Helsingissä perustettu kvartetti on esiintynyt Suomessa, Norjassa, Virossa ja Unkarissa. Barlast on julkaissut neljä albumia: Musik för scener (2022), Live and Electric (2021), Svanvik (2019) ja Ihantola (2017). Yhtyettä on kuvailtu soittavan ”ilmavaa ja ilmaisullista musiikkiaan niin upeasti, että lähtökohtaisesti haastava kansanmusiikin, jazzin ja improvisaation fuusio vangitsee kuulijan.” (Onni Rajaniemi, Kansanmusiikki-lehti2/2019)

Ticketmaster Finland across the country. A service fee is included in the ticket price. A separate Ticketmaster order fee of 1,50–2,00 € per order is added. Tickets without a service fee from Culture Centre Valve. A limited amount of Kaikukortti-tickets are available.

A series ticket is available for the Oulu Music Festival's Spring 2023 Jazz & Etno series. The series ticket is on sale until March 1, 2023, in limited amount. The series ticket includes all spring season 2023 OMJ Jazz & Etno concert series’ concerts.
