DEAR FRIENDS OF MUSIC!
My last Oulu Music Festival programme is now ready, here you are. The cultural highlight of the year is when the whole of Pyörteitä Ballet finally gets on stage. In that production, Alpo Aaltokoski’s modern dance choreography meets Oulu Symphony lead by Jaakko Kuusisto. In chamber music, the extremes are forgotten, instead the focus is how wonderful music was composed on the 19th and 20th century when Brahms was one of the key composers. Young, future artists like the motor mouth Felix Zenger and the charming Eva & Manu with their bands perform in Oulu. They will definitely be heard about later on, I can bet on that!
Life, music and festival planning are all full of choices. We cannot, and do not want to, offer everything for everyone. I do believe, however, that you can experience something unique in all our concerts. So, do come along, with an open mind, experience and enjoy. Music happens in a moment, and that moment shouldn’t be missed!
It has been a real pleasure and honour for me to work with Oulu Music Festival. Many thanks to the audience and cooperation partners, and not to forget our fantastic office team! It is wonderful to see cooperation on the cultural field get stronger, and the festival to grow bigger and more prominent.
