Aili Ikonen, Finland's most acclaimed jazz singer, will release her fourth solo album in February 2023. Thematically, her new album deals with perceiving one's own place in this time as different roles: as a person, as a woman, as part of the society, as part of a larger continuum, as part of a chain of generations.
Known as a sensitive, but at the same time strong interpreter, Ikonen has been heard extensively both with the top artists of the Finnish music scene and as a soloist in various ensembles, such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra. Ikonen is also known as a member of the a cappella group Rajaton.
Aili Ikonen brings with her on stage her primary quintet, with whom she has been collaborating for 10 years, releasing five albums together. The group will perform within the Oulu Music Festival for the new album release concert on Friday 24.3.
