Riikka Keränen
Jazz vocalist and composer Riikka Keränen (b. 1988) is one of the noteworthy and distinctive jazz artists of the vibrant Finnish music scene. Her quartet’s music combines elements of post-bop jazz with tonalities and sensibilities of a more pop-oriented approach. On her debut album A Vision of a Gardenreleased by the Flame Jazz Records in 2022, Keränen fuses jazz aesthetic and improvisation with evocative stories which take the listener on journey from the fells of the Sami land to the rainforests of Cameroon.
