Maria Kalaniemi Solo

Maria Kalaniemi is one of Finland's leading contemporary accordionists. Technically brilliant as a player and adept at improvisation, she is also a very powerful, intuitive and sensitive composer, with pieces that stylistically touch numerous areas but feature her own personality as the driving force. Melody is the meaning and with Maria, listeners are sure to feel her message deeply. She was awarded with the national musical award in Finland in 2018 and membership of the Swedish Royal Academy of Music in the same year.

The duration is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (including the intermission). During the intermission, it will be possible to purchase coffee and baked goods made by the Martta organization.

The concert is part of the 2025 Oulu Music Festival.

Accessibility

At the main entrance of Oulu Service Sector Institute, there are stairs. For wheelchair access, enter through the door on the Sports Street side, where there is a ramp. The venue has accessible restroom facilities. The lobby restaurant is also accessible.
