Oulu Sinfonia SEASON CONCERT III
Thu 19.3.2026 at 18:30
Duration approx. 1 h 50 min (incl. intermission)
The hallmarks of Estonian art music are its listener-friendly character and its deeply moving emotional resonance. Heino Eller’s national-romantic tone poem Dawn plunges into almost Sibelius-like depths, while Tõnu Kõrvits’s brand-new Kellade fantaasia brings the colours of Romanticism gracefully into the 21st century. The common thread of the evening’s programme is Arvo Pärt – one of the world’s most beloved contemporary composers. His piano concerto Lamentate, imbued with mysticism and meditation, is as vast and awe-inspiring as its source of inspiration, Anish Kapoor’s monumental 150-metre artwork Marsyas. Head start at Restaurant Preludi at 18.00. Discussion of the forthcoming concert.
