Heli Hartikainen is an award-winning saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and sound artist whose music merges experimental sonic textures with hypnotic, evolving soundscapes. As a saxophonist, Hartikainen is a passionate instrumentalist who continually pushes the limits of their instrument, themself, and the possibilities of sound technology ever further.
Hartikainen’s acclaimed debut solo album CHRONOVARIATIONS, which utilizes 3D audio technology, received the Critics’ Spurs Award from the Finnish Critics’ Association in 2025 for the year’s most significant artistic breakthrough and was nominated for the 2024 Emma Award for Best Jazz Album.

Jazz in Finland 100
In 2026, it will be 100 years since jazz symbolically arrived in Finland aboard the ship *Andania*. The year is therefore a historic anniversary for Finnish jazz: the Jazz Suomi 100 celebratory year. The anniversary highlights Finnish jazz and its creators both in Finland and abroad, celebrating jazz as part of Finland’s cultural heritage. The Jazz Suomi 100 campaign is coordinated by the Finnish Jazz Federation.
