The Sun King is known for his love of luxury but is also whimsical and demanding by nature. That's where the trouble begins!
The Whims of the Sun King (Aurnkokuninkaan oikut) is a dramatized and fast-paced performance. It tells funny, peculiar, and interesting true stories from the life of King Louis XIV, who reigned over France in the 17th century, set to the backdrop of baroque music from the Versailles court.
In the court of the arts and luxury-loving, capricious, and demanding Sun King, conflicts arise that throw the audience into crazy events but also provoke thoughts about maintaining appearances, exercising power, and issues related to social equality.
