Anton Mejias – J.S. Bach

Finnish pianist Anton Mejias will be visiting Oulu for the first time. In this concert we will hear the French Suites 1-6 by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Mejias is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing pianists of his generation. His international career is soaring, and he has already made his debut as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl.

Born in 2001, Anton Mejias developed a passion for Bach’s music at a young age. He performed his recital debut at the age of eight, and by ten, he had mastered all of the pieces in Das Wohltemperierte Klavier I. Since then, he has expanded his repertoire to include the French and English Suites, all six Partitas, and Das Wohltemperierte Klavier II.

"In general, with Bach, I try to bring out the heart of the music and its incredibly rich emotionality, while still respecting the music's intellectual side and style," Mejias describes.

Accessibility

The accessible entrance is located on the Hallituskatu side of the City Hall. There is a button at the entrance that can be used to open the door. If the door does not open, you can press the info buzzer at the entrance to have it opened for you. The accessible entrance leads to the ground floor (0) of the City Hall. The elevator to other floors of the building is located down a long hallway to the right of the entrance. There is a tactile marking on the floor to guide visually impaired individuals toward the elevator. The elevator doors are 90 cm wide.
