The new Art Director of Oulunsalo Soi, Virpi Räisänen and the event’s residence quartet, Jousia, introduce themselves and launch the August festival programme. The Sunset by the Italian Ottorino Respighi is a vocal fresco in which the Mezzo-Soprano can bathe in glowing string melodies. The Shelley poem tells a story of two lovers; a man who died young and a woman who lived in eternal longing. Alfred Schnittke’s string trio keeps perfect company to The Sunset.
